THE CHOSEN: Season 1: Indescribable Compassion

THE CHOSEN:  Indescribable Compassion gives viewers yet another chance to imagine Jesus in real life with real people. Taking some creative liberties, the show fills in some gaps to bring the story of Jesus to life. Episode 6 begins to reveal in some depth the charismatic and compassionate nature of Christ. Meanwhile, in the shadows, suspicion and jealousy grows among the Jewish religious leaders, the Pharisees and Sadducees.

THE CHOSEN:  Indescribable Compassion continues to tell the story of Christ in the miracles of the healing of Simon’s mother-in-law. People begin to notice Jesus and His Word that gives life to everything and everyone who receives it. Crowds gather as he heals the paralytic who is lowered through the roof. Jesus seems to appreciate the perseverance and ingenuity of those who broke the roof open to get to Him. The crowd cheers when the paralytic stands up. Some of the religious leaders at the time are extremely threatened by the authority of Jesus Christ to forgive sins and rescue people from the bondage of sin.

Leprosy is one of the major diseases in the time of Jesus. It is the sickness that renders a person no longer worthy of dignity, love or community. Jesus enters into the sickness of humanity that all throughout history renders some of the population, for one reason or another, insignificant and no longer a person. Jesus shows love and compassion for the leper. This saving power of the love of Jesus Christ heals the sickness of the man’s body in front of everyone.

This episode also shows how Jesus restores the dignity and worth of each person who encounters Him, no matter what the circumstances. There is nothing more uplifting than the saving power of Jesus! THE CHOSEN:  Indescribable Compassion is a must see.
