// A few thoughts about love // Each opportunity I get to visit a place as vast and majestic as this, it brings to mind just how big and how great our God is. And as mesmerized as I become by the beauty and complexity of His articulate design and finely tuned structure of this universe, the one thought more overwhelming than all of that is simply, “Wow… how can a God this big love little ole me and you?” And not with just any love, but the deepest and most sincere kind of love, genuine care and total investment. With a love that’s immeasurable in its range and the love that willingly chose to give His life for our rescue and freedom from the chains of sin and despair. You see, when we talk about love, we often confuse it with something as simple as an emotion, a rush or a deep attraction, but love isn’t really a feeling, love is an action. It’s choosing to do whatever it takes for someone else to receive the best possible outcome while holding no regard for it’s own. When you look for the greatest example of that kind of love, it’s exactly what Jesus did when He went to the cross for you and me, knowing that not only were we so unworthy, but that we could never repay Him. John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 15:13 tells us, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” That’s the kind of love Jesus has for you and me, and that to me is the biggest mystery of the universe. I hope tonight that whatever battle you’re facing, you know that you don’t have to fight it alone. Because, you see, not only is God’s love toward us a redeeming love, but it’s also the kind of love that wants to continue down our daily life path and struggle, to pick us up when we fall, and to ever remind us what our value is in God’s eyes: priceless. He cares about you, your outcomes, and your destiny immensely, and all you have to do is reach out to Him in Faith. He’s already listening 🙏🏼
