Pastor Jonathan Pokluda recently spoke about the importance of attending a church that will “deploy your [spiritual] gifts.”
“Become a member of a church that teaches the Word,” he said during an episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.” “And now, you’re building up, you’re reconstructing, you’re moving walls and you’re putting them where they need to be, and you’re making a beautiful home.”
Pokluda recommended finding “a church that teaches the truth and that they’re going to deploy your gifts there, because you know you have spiritual gifts.”
He ended the conversation by speaking about the call he feels to share the gospel with others.
“As we are faithful to share, God is faithful to save,” Pokluda explained. “I believe this life is what we have, and this is our opportunity to choose Christ.”
Pokluda has recently been promoting his latest book, Your Story Has a Villain: Identify Spiritual Warfare and Learn How to Defeat the Enemy.
“If you wanna open up attacks from the enemy, just write a book on spiritual warfare,” he told CBN while attending a recent awards show. “But I would just say God’s winning.”
One of those major wins is the revival movement Pokluda has been seeing on college campuses, where he said he’s witnessed over 20,000 students pray to accept and receive Christ over the past two years.

“I just think we’re right in the middle of something really special,” he said. “The most incredible time, at least in my generation — in my lifetime, I’ll say.”
Last year, Pokluda gave a speech at Liberty University where he urged the audience to put their faith at the forefront of their lives.
“Jesus is asking you for everything; He doesn’t do well in the backseat,” he explained. “When you give Him an hour and half on Sunday, or 15 minutes in the morning, it’s not what He’s asking you for. He’s asking you for your screen time, your dating life, your friendships, your family, your health…All of those things, Jesus is sovereign over [them], and they’re His, whether you give them to Him or not.”
Pokluda continued, “He wants all of it, and not because He’s greedy, but because He loves you, and He knows that your very best life is one that’s lived for Him, completely for Him.”
Pokluda’s recent comments are a reminder that finding the right church for you is an important component of your spiritual journey.
