The EVERYBODY LOVE RAYMOND cast got together to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary and to look back on several items and props from the show at an immersive exhibit at the Paley Museum in New York.
“I feel really choked up right now,” Patricia Heaton said. “Part of it is because I quit drinking and it’s so interesting…I’m Irish so we don’t cry, we drink, but I quit drinking so now all I do is cry.”
Heaton has been open about her sobriety journey before. She told TODAY in 2021, “I need to have my brain…It’s going anyway, I don’t want to add to it with the alcohol.”
During the reunion, she added, “Seeing all these photos…it’s sort of overwhelming when you’re in it and you’re doing it. You’re just trying to create a good show every week.”
During the reunion, the cast viewed iconic items from the show, including Marie’s canister and the engraved toaster.
The get-together was bittersweet, though, as the cast missed Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, who played Frank and Marie, respectively. Boyle died in 2006 at the age of 71, and Roberts died in 2016 at age 90.
“They are as big a part of the show as anybody, you know? So just professionally we miss them,” star Ray Romano said.”People talk about will there be a reboot and the immediate answer is no, no way, because you can’t. They’re such a major part of the dynamic of everything and they’re just…everyone was close.”
Actor Brad Garrett, who played Robert Barone, couldn’t attend the event, but he had a special moment over video. He said of Romano, “I owe him a lot man, I owe that man a lot.”
Heaton took to Instagram during the event to share how much it meant to her.
“No words. What a special night 🤍 If you’re in NYC this summer, pop by the Paley Center EVERYBODY LOVE RAYMOND exhibit. They really did a beautiful job!” she wrote.

Fans commented with enthusiasm for the event.
“I’d go to NY just to see this! What wonderful memories for sure. So many unbelievably funny episodes!” one fan said. Another person added, “One of the best shows of all time. I watch it over and over again. Sad that Frank and Marie are gone. All the parents are gone actually along with one of the twins. Anyway thank you for bringing laughs.”
EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND is available to stream on several platforms including Peacock and Paramount Plus.
