THE OPPOSITE SEX AND HOW TO LIVE WITH THEM

What You Need To Know:

With dialogue filled with constant references to the sex act and private body parts, and scenes copied from earlier similar films, THE OPPOSITE SEX is a boring, predictable romantic comedy that is neither romantic nor funny. In fact, it's rather sad that as a last resort to save his failing relationship with Carey, David gives up and asks her to marry him.

Content:

(H, LLL, SS, NN, A) A degenerate, immoral, anthropocentric worldview, wherein both women and men viewed as sex objects as well as: 31 obscenities & 4 profanities; continuous references to the sex act & private body parts, & a discussion of oral sex; two post-sex bedroom scenes with couple mostly under sheets, implied sex on the dining room table, & promiscuity; and, alcohol consumption promoted.

More Detail:

David and Carey meet in a bar after work. He is looking at women’s legs through a periscope to the street above, she is scolding him for his male chauvinism, and both of them are playing the “relationship stereotype” from start to finish in the movie THE OPPOSITE SEX. They’re looking for love in all the wrong ways and all the wrong places. Someone neglected to tell first-time director Matthew Meshekoff that this has all been done, just as forgettably, many times before. There is nothing of any real value or interest anywhere in this film. The level of quality is mediocre at best. (The two men have terrible haircuts which change unnaturally in length from scene to scene. Continuity, anyone?) The soundtrack is made up of dated pop hits, and there is nothing memorable about the photography, the scenery or the dialogue. There is nothing of any real value or interest anywhere in this film. The story is old news and outdated. The characters are degenerate and without moral integrity. The script is slow and the humor is sophomoric. Just think, this is from an “original screenplay.”
