PureFlix Founder Thankful For Prayer After His Son’s Emergency Surgery

By Cooper Dowd, Staff Writer

PureFlix co-founder actor David A.R. White announced that his son, Ethan, successfully made it through an appendectomy over the weekend.

“Thanks for all the prayers everyone, E had his appendix out just in time, and is recovering nicely. Thanks to @andrealoganwhite for being a super mom and being there,” White posted to Instagram. “No doubt, Life is a tumultuous storm at times, as humans, it’s what unites us and humbles us and reminds us that God is ultimately in control and we are not. May God bless you all today and may God bless America.”

White was filming in Malta filming when he shared the prayer announcement to Instagram.

“I would ask you guys, right now, if you look at this if you would pray for my son, Ethan and pray that the Lord would guide the doctors hands as they open him up and as he gets surgery; that he would come out strong and healthy,” White said.

“The worst thing is that my son is going into surgery right now. It’s a challenge because you love your kids more than anything in the world,” White continued. “Let me know that God is good all the time and all the time, God is good. Amen.”

Doctors were able to successfully removed Ethan’s appendix in about an hour after he spent all day in the hospital.

White updated his followers and thanked them for their immediate prayers and encouragement.

“Thanks so much for your prayers guys, he just got out of surgery and sleeping now, doc caught it in time,” White said.

Ethan’s mother, Andrea Logan, stayed in the hospital with her son. Initially, Logan was supposed to be out of town on a girls’ trip, but her plans were providentially rescheduled before the weekend.

Logan was at home with the couple’s three children when Ethan complained of stomach pains. Logan said she knew it must be addressed immediately.

“I had to leave my girls home to rush him to the hospital as it happened so fast, my intuition said GO now,” Logan posted on Instagram.

Logan also thanked fans for their prayers and said the ordeal reminded her that God is in control.

“I can’t thank you enough for all of your prayers. He had inflamed intestines, a stone and the Dr. suspected a perforated appendix. Even though it is a minor surgery, the heaviness and fear a Mama has when you wheel your child off to go under anesthesia, is never easy,” Logan said. “The fear filled thoughts over take you, especially being that he came from me-my faulty immune system, hundreds of allergies, and endless Dr’s through out this sweet boy’s life.”

Logan continued: “All we need is a glimmer of hope to trust that God is in control of all circumstances, and he has a plan even when we feel helpless. I couldn’t be more grateful for all of you sweet friends, your prayers, love and support, and for the incredible care at Los Robles Hospital. Thank you LORD!”
