Christian artist Lauren Daigle celebrated another year of musical success, crediting her audience and God!

“Numbers cannot always define success,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “If we simply look at numbers, comparison can become lethal — exchanging creativity for commerce and compassion in ministry for plaques on the wall.”

Daigle explained that it can be “a tricky line to balance sometimes,” adding, “So as I post these numbers, I want to be clear with my intentions of celebration. These numbers, simply put, are not mine. They are ours. They are His.”

“These numbers reflect the amount of minutes and hours that a song was hopefully igniting something in the spirit of so many people around the globe — a moment where hopefully the presence of God was able to ride the airwaves into your home, your car, your workspace, your heart,” the singer continued. “I’m so grateful to be just another number in the collective humanity we share, writing songs to provide space for these numerous moments. Thank you x a million! All my love!!!”

Daigle had another major year; on Spotify, her music reached over 25 million listeners, while on Apple Music, her songs were played for over 517 million minutes.

Another accolade Daigle received this year? The singer-songwriter was honored as Artist of the Year by the Recording Industry Association of America.

“Music is this incredible tool, right? It goes far and wide. It goes all around the world, and it somehow is universal,” Daigle said during the event. “You don’t even have to speak the same language to feel something that the person next to you is feeling. I’m so grateful that music is this bonding agent in a time of division, right?”

She continued, “We get to all sit and listen together, and in the process of doing that, we see the world become one. We see the world become whole again, even if it’s for but a moment, and that, to me, is so beautiful. Hopefully these songs last beyond me, and are able to bring the beauty of Jesus to every heart long after I’m gone. Thank you for this honor.”

“I’m so excited for the work RIAA has done to keep intellectual property and creative freedom upheld to high esteem with the legislation to protect artists, songwriters, creatives, and many more through the NO FAKES ACT,” she later wrote in an Instagram post celebrating the night. “Sometimes in life you may receive a gift you feel as though you don’t deserve… that’s just like the gift of Jesus, the greatest honor! I’m so delighted to share His hope through the medium of music. May the songs and impact of His truth through rhythm, rhyme, and melody continue to live on well beyond my years!”

While Daigle is celebrating her year of success in the music industry, the artist made sure to thank the listeners who have supported her — and praised God’s guiding hand.
