Christian artist Lauren Daigle is one of many remarking on the revival that is moving through younger generations.
“I think it’s very evident that revival is sweeping through these college campuses,” Daigle told Crosswalk Headlines. “People want the truth. They want the real truth. They don’t want the ‘my truth.’ They want the Jesus truth. People are hungry to know what is real. And there’s an aching world out there, and we get to bring them the hope of Jesus.”
She added, “I think we’re going to see some amazing times to come.”
Daigle has seen evidence of this revival herself. She recalled a recent appearance at a college “Night of Worship,” where the young people in attendance “were just like, jumping and dancing and so thirsty and so hungry for God.”

The artist’s latest single, “Let It Be A Hallelujah,” reflects that spiritual hunger.
“Every moment that we have can be a hallelujah to God, and I need that reminder in my life,” Daigle told Crosswalk. “I am constantly saying, ‘Oh, God, I failed at that. [Or] oh, I shouldn’t have thought that way. Or, why did I say that to that person?’ … There’s so many moments like that, but this is a song to remember [that] even when you fail, it can be a hallelujah. Even when life is hard and it’s falling in on you, you can still allow your praise to rise to the Lord.”
In an Instagram post about how “Let It Be A Hallelujah” came to be, she wrote, “Years ago, in the writing cycle between ‘How Can It Be’ and ‘Look Up Child’, I remember this gem ‘Let It Be a Hallelujah’ landing in the land of Dropbox and never making its way to my record.”
“Fast forward years and years later, I truly believe that God had an incredible design filled with intention behind why this song wasn’t brought forth into the world in the season in which we wrote it,” Daigle continued. “This song was savored and salvaged for a time when my life needed to intersect with it. It compels me to believe that from any place high or low, triumphant or troublesome, praise can live on our lips and in our spirit. I think Paul taught us the extravagant resilience of being content in all things. This song is the reminder of this truth.”
While speaking to K-LOVE Radio, Daigle said, “Sometimes you write songs, and then other times, songs write you. And I feel like, in the moment of writing that song, it was amazing.”
Daigle’s new single is a reflection of the Christian revival movement that is taking place all over the world.
