Jeremy Renner to Recount Snowplow Accident Through New Music

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actor Jeremy Renner recently announced that he will release music that marks “different milestones” from his snowplow accident.

“A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year,” Renner wrote on Instagram. “Love and Titanium has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create. I hope I get the courage to share with you all.”

In a recent interview with ABC News, Renner explained the meaning behind the album’s title, “Love And Titanium.”

“I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience,” he said. “But I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”

In an earlier interview, Renner told PEOPLE that he has always loved music.

“My family was my first love, and then music,” he said. “Acting came into my brain around 20. Music has always been my first love as far as something other than my family.”

“There’s a bunch of music written, and that’s a future thing. I’m happy to share music now, which I wasn’t before,” he added.

In 2020, Renner wrote about the importance of music.

“I’ve always found music to be one of the few things that unite people in a pure way,” he said. “Common ground can be hard to find in today’s world, but music has remained a constant for me. To feel deeply, to dance fervently, and live together is more present now than ever.”

In January, Renner was involved in a snowplow accident that left him hospitalized for weeks. Since then, the actor has focused on his recovery.

In an Instagram video, Renner wrote, “Positive daily routines have been a solid foundation in my recovery. Build your mind, the body will follow. I make sure I get leg movements and stretches everyday…’oil’ up inside my metal/joints with movement…push out scar tissue, strengthen muscle, tendons to have more joint support.”

“If you’re struggling, just know your attitude will dictate every waking moment moving forward….Let go of the past, and move with positive intention and you will be provided. I promise,” he added.

Movieguide® previously reported on Renner’s recovery:

The AVENGERS star recently shared on his Instagram story a selfie of him sitting in a hyperbaric chamber.

Fox News Digital reported that Renner wrote, “Hyperbaric chamber, 2 atmosphere pressure, high oxygen, 2x daily.”

The University Hospitals Science of Health reports that the benefits of the hyperbaric chamber include:

  • Increasing blood flow
  • Decreasing inflammation and swelling
  • Weakening infection-causing bacteria
  • Increasing the body’s ability to fight free radicals (unstable molecules that can build up in cells and cause damage)
  • Stimulating the growth of new blood vessels

“Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a phenomenal adjunctive therapy for wound management. It is extremely helpful in the most complicated and severe cases and helps us to save legs and lives,” Jacqueline Donovan, DPM, shared.

Renner also posted a video of him running on an assisted treadmill on his X page. He wrote, “First attempt…Weight assisted jog on the @BoostTreadmills. The most difficult step is the first one…#loveandtitanium.”
