ON A WING AND A PRAYER tells the inspiring true story of Doug White and his miraculous flying of a private plane carrying his wife and their two daughters when the pilot dies. ON A WING AND A PRAYER has a strong Christian moral worldview, with many powerful scenes of prayer and divine intervention, but the action is intense, with a few light obscenities and a scene where an air traffic controller gets drunk at a bar.
SOUND OF FREEDOM tells the true story of Tim Ballard, a former Homeland Security agent who puts his life on the line to rescue hundreds of children out of sex trafficking. SOUND OF FREEDOM is an incredible, gripping and heartbreaking, but hope-giving, movie with a strong Christian, moral that sheds light on the need for strong people to stand up for God’s children around the world who are caught in the vicious, abusive system of human trafficking, but MOVIEGUIDE® advises strong and extreme caution for the movie’s mature subject matter, some implied and depicted violence, implied abuse of children, and a scene of some bad guys using cocaine.

SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME is an uplifting, inspiring, powerful drama for teenagers and adults about a woman, who redeems her cheating husband and a troubled homeless man through the power of her Christian faith, love and compassion. Extremely well-acted with many heartfelt moments, SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME is a little disjointed at the very beginning and could use a bigger, more suspenseful climax at the end, but it tells an inspiring, powerful Christian story that’s a must-see.
PRISONERS is a riveting, morally complex thriller about the desperate search for two missing girls. PRISONERS is one of the most intense, harrowing, well-acted movies in a long time, with a strong moral worldview with overt Christian references, but there are some apparent plot holes, the movie is too long, and there is plenty of strong foul language and very strong violence. So, extreme caution is advised.
LEGACY PEAK is a new Affirm Original adventure movie streaming on Pure Flix, about a man who wants to bond with his girlfriend’s children before he proposes on Christmas Eve, but, when their plane crashes in the wilderness on the way to a cabin, Jason must protect his future children from looming dangers in the wild. LEGACY PEAK is a well-made movie, with a great performance by FAST & FURIOUS actor Lucas Black, an exciting second half, and a strong Christian, moral worldview that champions God, prayer, faith, Scripture, and fatherhood.

LEFT BEHIND: RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST ponders the repercussions of an event where millions of people mysteriously disappear all at once across the globe and a nefarious group of people try to establish a one-world government in the wake of the confusion. LEFT BEHIND: RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST is well acted and produced, with a very strong, but pre-millennial Christian worldview, but caution is advised for young children for the evil forces depicted in the movie and two scenes where people are murdered.

PERSECUTED is a suspenseful political thriller about a renowned evangelist who finds himself targeted by a secret conspiracy to limit religious freedom in America. PERSECUTED is an exciting, suspenseful and pretty clean movie for mature viewers, with a strong Christian worldview and top-notch acting by some familiar veterans, but it’s sometimes slow or slightly confusing in a couple places and contains some violence and innuendo, so light caution is warranted.

THE RELIANT is an excellent adventure movie about the children of Christian parents in Ohio who must defend themselves when the social order breaks down and their parents are taken from them by a thug who’s out for revenge against their father. Defending both faith and freedom, including the right to bear arms, THE RELIANT is one of the most thrilling, best written, best acted and emotionally powerful contemporary Christian movies. That said, THE RELIANT has some gun violence and many intense moments that warrant caution for some older children who may be sensitive about such things.
HACKSAW RIDGE is a great, emotive, powerful, touching Christian war movie about Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield), a courageous conscientious objector who serves as an unarmed medic during the brutal battle of Okinawa in World War II. Brilliantly directed by Mel Gibson, HACKSAW RIDGE is a captivating, emotional movie about uncompromising faith and miraculous courage. It will make you laugh and cry, but strong caution is advised because of bloody violence and some foul language.

THE SHIFT is a science fiction movie with a fantasy twist where a righteous, but troubled man meets a mysterious, menacing stranger who sends the man to a dark, totalitarian world with no hope and no faith, where the man tries to find a way to escape and return to his wife. THE SHIFT is one of the most moving, inventive, compelling, and powerful faith-based movies ever made, but there is some action violence of people being shot and references to alcohol, so caution is advised for pre-teenage children and other impressionable, sensitive viewers.
