An ex-psychic sounds the alarm after reading a survey that reported 30% of U.S. adults consult astrology or occult practices to make decisions.

“I thought it was horrific, to be quite honest with you, but I can’t say that I’m completely surprised,” said Jen Nizza, who hosts the “Ex-Psychic Saved” podcast.

“A fall 2024 Pew Research Center survey finds that 30% of U.S. adults say they consult astrology (or a horoscope), tarot cards, or a fortune teller at least once a year, but most do so just for fun, and few Americans say they make major decisions based on what they learn along the way,” Pew reported.

Just under 30% of adults believe in astrology, which is highest among women aged 18-49.

Some (20%) consult astrology, tarot cards and other new age practices just for fun, while 10% believe the practices give them insight.

“Many people are going [to psychics and other tools] because they think it’s entertainment, but I want to argue something,” Nizza said. “As a former psychic, how sure are we that they don’t believe a little bit? How do we know that, when they go for that reading, it’s not like, ‘Oh, I wonder what they’re going to say or what’s gonna come out for me in the cards or the astrology chart?’”

The reason for doing it isn’t what’s important though, because the result is the same.

“Whether you believe or not and you’re just doing it [or it is] for entertainment, you’re opening a demonic door, which is so heartbreaking,” she said. “That’s just the truth of it. If you’re going to use a tool of divination, you’re going outside of God’s boundaries.”

Nizza says that she believed she was helping people when she was a psychic, but demons were feeding her information.

“It’s a battle for souls,” Nizza said.

On her Instagram, Nizza shared a verse. She said, “The Bible is clear: ‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.’ (Leviticus 19:31).”

“When you engage in these things, you’re stepping into enemy territory—and the consequences are real. Eternal condemnation awaits those who reject the truth. But there’s hope in Jesus Christ,” she shared. “✝️ Only Christ can break the bondage of darkness and bring true freedom. Repent. Turn to Him. Be set free.”

Nizza wants everyone to be aware of the dangers of spiritualism. She’s partnering with Chynna Phillips, who also abandoned the new age for a relationship with Jesus, to make a movie about her story, which will be called OUT OF THE SHADOWS: AN EX-PYSCHIC FINDS JESUS.

Phillips shared about the movie on Instagram. “Support the Vision. Share the Light. ✨Help raise funds to bring OUT OF THE SHADOWS to life, a future film based on Jenn Nizza’s powerful testimony of deliverance from the occult to freedom in Christ,” she said. “🎬 This project will expose the truth behind New Age practices and point boldly to Jesus as the only way, truth, and life.”

It’s great that Nizza and Phillips are on a mission to win back souls for Christ. Darkness destroys, but light is within sight of those who look for it.
