Feeling overwhelmed by phone notifications, even when you try to unplug? Candace Cameron Bure knows just how you feel.
“Nature tried. Notifications won,” the FULL HOUSE actress captioned a hilariously relatable video of herself trying to read in the park undisturbed.
In the video, Bure turns off her phone’s notifications to focus on her book, but once she’s finished and powers her phone back on, she’s bombarded with texts and missed calls.
“Will try again tomorrow!” Bure promised in the video’s caption. Many of her followers chimed in with their own attempts to unplug and enjoy some screen-free time.
“I feel that! Just try ‘forgetting’ your phone in the house,” one fan commented. “We live by a lake and I enjoy it so much more when I leave my phone behind.”
Another wrote, “I know what you mean Candace. This is me everyday!”

Bure has previously encouraged her followers to put their phones down more often. In a 2024 Instagram video, she told fans she was about to head out on a family vacation.
“I need a break, and my guess is that you do, too. So, I thought, let’s do the summer the way that we used to — we’re going to unplug from the podcast for the month of June, and we hope that you’ll unplug, too,” she said. “Spend some time with your family and your friends, and try not to be so consumed with the things on the internet. That’s what I’m going to try to do.”
The Great American Family star recently released her latest book, 100 Days of Joy and Strength: A Daily Devotional Journey.
“This book is really special to me,” Bure said in a recent Instagram video. “It’s 100 days of encouragement, scripture, prayer, and reflection, all designed to help you draw closer to God and walk through each day with more peace, more purpose, and more joy.”
In an interview with Fox News, she explained, “It’s literally a couple of minutes every day…There’s a reflective story that I’ll tell that’s a personal story, either something that has happened in my life or something that I observed, and then there’s a Bible verse that goes with it, and it applies to that Bible verse. Then there’s a little prayer that you can say, you can read, you can repeat, you can add to it and that’s it.”
“It’s just a couple of minutes every day to remind you to renew your mind, to connect with God and what His word says and remind you that He is your joy, that your joy comes from Him and He also is your strength,” she concluded.
It can be difficult to truly unplug and take some time away from your phone but, like Bure said, you can always try again tomorrow!
