Although he hasn’t been on WHEEL OF FORTUNE nearly as long as Vanna White, host Ryan Seacrest taught his co-host some new things about the hit game show.
While standing by the famous wheel in a recent video, Seacrest shared a fun fact with White: “Do you know the clicking sound? There are rubber bands — like you used to have with orthodontia on your teeth — that’s what makes the clicking.”
White confessed, “Do you know I never knew that?”
“Well, welcome to season 43!” Seacrest quipped. Seacrest is entering his second season on the show, while White is kicking off her 43rd.
“I love coming to work, it’s always fun. You never know what’s going to happen,” White added.
Seacrest replaced White’s longtime cohost Pat Sajak after he retired from the show last year.

“He just slipped right in like he’d been doing it forever,” White said of Seacrest.
“Hosting WHEEL OF FORTUNE is a dream job,” Secrest said last year. “I’ve been a fan of this show since I was a kid, watching in Atlanta with my family, and I know how special it is that WHEEL has been in your living rooms for the past 40 years. I’m just so grateful to be invited in. I also know I’ve got some very big shoes to fill.”
The duo love working on the show together.
“We’ve been interviewed by so many different people. Everybody thought it would be fun if we interviewed each other,” Seacrest told White.
“You reported that you were nervous about the changes?” Seacrest asked.
“Obviously it was a big change, but working with you as a professional, you’re so good, and I don’t feel nervous working with you,” White explained.
Seacrest chimed in, “We’ve known each other for over two decades.”
White asked, “Looking back 20 years ago, did you think we’d be sitting here right now?”
“No, I mean obviously I remember when we met…never in a million years did I think I’d be sitting here next to you with the WHEEL OF FORTUNE logo behind me.”
People in the comment section gushed over the pair’s friendship. “You are a great team! We enjoy watching wheel every night!” one person said. Another user added, “You are doing a great job Ryan, as always! You are magical in every show you host, it is a joy watching you! Wishing you much more success!!”
Seacrest’s presence on the iconic show has had a positive impact on ratings. Variety reported in June, “The syndicated gamer – which just aired its final batch of new episodes for the 2024-2025 TV season — was up year-to-year in both households and total viewers.”
Fans of the hit game show can watch it on Hulu and Peacock.
