MIGHTY DUCKS star Shaun Weiss is offering a helping hand to Tylor Chase, another former child actor who has fallen on hard times.

“I have received many messages about [Chase],” Weiss said in an Instagram video. “I reached out to some friends of mine, and we have a bed for him at a detox, and we have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment.”

He continued, “All we need to do now is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles, or I would go look for him myself,” asking followers to “please DM me so we can get him some help in time for the holiday.”

Weiss’ message comes after a video of Chase went viral, showing that he was homeless and living on the streets of Riverside, California.

TMZ reported that police have offered Chase help, “but he continuously turns them down.”

“While some unhoused individuals meet officers with anger or hostility…we’re told Tylor is cooperative and always cordial,” the outlet added.

Chase is known for his role as Martin Qwerly on the popular Nickelodeon series NED’S DECLASSIFIED SCHOOL SURVIVAL GUIDE. He also appeared on EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS and in the 2007 indie movie GOOD TIME MAX.

Weiss has faced the same struggles as Chase; after enjoying early success as an actor in THE MIGHTY DUCKS movie series, he struggled with sobriety and was arrested several times for theft. He has been sober since 2020.

“When I look back on it, my issues really sunk in when all of that stuff [his career] went away,” Weiss said during an appearance on the “Pod Meets World” podcast. “I never really got into drugs or anything while I was working. It was when I stopped working, and I basically walked away from things thinking that I could just, you know, roll back in whenever.”

He continued, “When the life of being in movies and television, when that disappeared, I think boredom really became something that was very hard for me to deal with. It definitely created a an enormous void that I had difficulty filling, So, it definitely affected me and definitely was a big deal, but maybe not in like the traditional way that people might assume.”

Many are hoping Chase will take Weiss up on his offer, as the MIGHT DUCKS star understands his unique situation and wants to offer him help and support through this time.
