Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter recently reminded his followers to “live in the light” of God.
“You are the light of the world,” he captioned a recent Instagram post. “We live in a spiritually dark world because humanity has chosen to reject God, who is the true light. Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers to make them think that they are walking in the light, but in reality, they live in the darkness.”
Carter continued, “The good news is that Jesus, the light of the world, came to us in the middle of our darkness to shine in the darkness with the power of His Gospel. It is the light of the Gospel that shines in our hearts and minds, inviting us to no longer remain in the darkness and to see Christ’s glory.”
The NFL player reminded his social media followers that “Jesus saves us not so that we can hide our light; He saves us so that we can reflect the light He gave us. So that by our good works, others will see our heavenly Father more clearly. You are invited to live in the light.”

Carter explained that, to live in the light, it’s important to “embrace who Jesus has called you to be,” as well as “imitate Christ,” “glorify God” and “hold firm to the faith.”
“Be unashamed of the light you’ve received,” he concluded. “Go and live in the light that Jesus has given you!”
Carter frequently shares faith-filled messages on his Instagram. In one recent post, he encouraged his followers to make “real change” through their actions.
“Spread the gospel of Jesus,” he wrote. “Stop rotting your brain with politics. Get out of the comment section. Get off the reels. Get into the local church. Influence those around you by living a godly life. God is working, God is moving, God is producing beauty in the midst of the brokenness.”
In a 2023 video, Carter explained that his goal is to share his faith with others.
“[Faith is] the hope that we all need, and yet, everyone is searching for it,” the football player said. “We’re all searching for purpose. We’re all searching for something to fulfill us, something to sustain us. So it’s a gift that I believe God has given me to be able to use my words and be able to use my platform to be able to glorify Him and to spread His name.”
Whether it’s on social media or through interviews, Carter is dedicated to sharing his faith with others and encouraging Christians to strengthen their relationships with God.
