Madi Prewett Troutt discussed the power of prayer and how it allows us to not only connect with the Lord, but also prepare ourselves to take on life’s challenges.

“I think one of the biggest kind of excuses that we can all give as humans is just, like, I’m too busy. I don’t have the time. I don’t have the time to pray. And the truth is, we can’t afford to not pray. I love even the armor of God. It takes you through all these different, you know, weapons but then…it starts the next sentence with ‘and pray in the spirit on all occasions,’” THE BACHELOR alum said. “That’s kind of like the final piece or armor.”

The Bible constantly speaks about the importance of prayer. Christians are called to pray and commune with God no matter what is happening in their lives. It can become easy to glide along during the good times and only turn to God in the bad, or run from God in the bad because it feels wrong not to come to Him with joy.

Prewett Troutt previously discussed the importance of relying on the Lord in the highs and the lows.

“Faith isn’t so much predicated on feeling or on circumstance… I think when we choose to believe in something bigger than ourselves, we’re choosing to believe that component of life right through the highs and lows of life,” she told Fox News.

“For me, even the low moments, it doesn’t shake that foundation,” Prewett Troutt said. “It just inspires me more. And so for me, during [the pandemic], it’s really brought a lot into perspective…the things that matter, the things that I want to be spending my time on.”

While encouraging her fans to constantly turn to the Lord, Prewett Trout is also quick to remind them that their relationship with God will not leave them empty. In a time when so many are looking to become whole — and are realizing that fame, money and the like leads to more emptiness — young Americans across the country are turning to Christ.

“We live in a world that tells us to ‘follow your heart,’ ‘chase what feels good’ and ‘do whatever makes you happy.’ But here’s the thing. When we live for ourselves, we don’t actually end up free,” Prewett Troutt explained.

“We end up tired, striving and still searching for something more,” she added. “Because the truth is…living for self enslaves you. The more you try to fill your heart with your own desires, the more it starts to feel empty.”

While those familiar with the Bible understand just how important prayer is for the Christian walk, it is still always good to be reminded just how big of an impact it can have on our lives.
