Funny and exciting, PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH is well made and has a strong Christian, moral worldview that includes Christian references and promotes being less selfish and reckless, thinking of others before yourself, and loving your family, but there are some scary characters and moments.

THE LION KING

A magnificent example of Disney animation, THE LION KING is an heroic tale of good versus evil which embodies many Christian allegorical elements. The sinister usurper Scar plots to kill his brother and nephew so he can become King himself. While there are several minor areas which call for discernment in THE LION KING, the good far outweighs the bad, and the film conveys a clear message of hope, reconciliation and appreciation for the majesty of creation.

****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
SING is an animated musical comedy, set in a society of anthropomorphic animals, about a Koala Bear named Buster Moons who tries to put on a singing competition at his failing theater. SING is a funny and sometimes even exciting family movie with a positive message about sharing one’s gifts with the world, but caution is advised for younger children for some light questionable elements.

FINDING NEMO

Quality:
****
Content:
+4 Biblical, usually Christian, worldview, with no questionable elements whatsoever.
FINDING NEMO is a wonderful animated adventure about a small clownfish who goes in search of his son, who's been put into a fish tank by human beings. Every second of FINDING NEMO is beautifully animated, spectacularly directed and written with great heart and strong moral values.

MADAGASCAR

+2 Moderately questionable elements.
MADAGASCAR, the new animated feature from DreamWorks, tells what happens when a zoo-bred lion named Alex and his three friends from the Central Park Zoo find themselves stranded on the island of Madagascar off the coast of Africa. MADAGASCAR is laugh-out-loud hilarious, and it contains clear messages urging people to abandon their baser instincts to become civilized, thoughtful, careful, and self-sacrificing.

A BUG'S LIFE

Quality:
****
Content:
+3 Some minor questionable elements. (Media-wisdom is suggested to discuss.)
Like the movie ANTZ, Walt Disney’s A BUG’S LIFE tells the story of a persistent ant who saves his colony from a menacing villain. This time, the villain is a grasshopper who leads a band of other grasshoppers to extort food. It extols the values of courage, teamwork, hope, perseverance, community, and individual effort, leading to a rousing, heartwarming, funny finish.

PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR

THE BAD GUYS

Quality:
****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
THE BAD GUYS is an excellent animated adventure about classic storybook villains on a mission to turn their conniving ways into community service. THE BAD GUYS is an overwhelmingly positive morality tale, with Christian, biblical references, that exchanges evil for good and shows that even the people we believe are most beyond redemption just need some encouragement to pursue the ways of the righteous.

RATATOUILLE

Quality:
****
Content:
+2 Moderately questionable elements.
RATATOUILLE is a wonderful, savory concoction from the incredible Pixar team in an incredible, but delightful story about a country rat who pursues his dream of culinary greatness among the gourmet restaurants of Paris. Some of the cartoon violence skews toward older children and teenagers, and some moral points are ignored by the dramatic action, but RATATOUILLE has a brilliant light Christian worldview with strong moral elements and very strong sentiments favoring a capitalist meritocracy.
