Andy Erwin Thanks Hollywood Heroes: ‘Grateful For One of My Big Brothers in The Faith And Industry’

By Movieguide® Staff

The Erwin Brothers have established themselves as some of the leading Christian creators in Hollywood with Movieguide® Award-winning and critically acclaimed faith-filled hits like AMERICAN UNDERDOG, I STILL BELIEVE and I CAN ONLY IMAGINE.

The brothers’ childhood love for movies motivated them to blend true and uplifting stories with quality and their passion for filmmaking.

Andy recently took to Instagram to share appreciation for some of the people who helped inspire them when they first started in a competitive entertainment business.

In one post, Andy thanked Devon Franklin saying: “Hanging out w a legend, our big brother in the business [Devon Franklin] Early in our career I remember hanging out in his office at Columbia Pictures asking for advice. Nothing but respect for this dude. Wouldn’t be where we are without him.”

In another post, Andy commended the work and his friendship with Jason Constantine.

“Very few men have had the impact on my life in the film industry bigger than this man, Jason Constantine,” he wrote. “Not only is he the reason we made our home Lionsgate but I’ve learned so much more from him about being a Christ follower, husband, and father. Grateful for another one of my big brothers in the faith and industry.”

Andy also thanked various actors, including AMERICAN UNDERDOG star Ser’Darius Blain.

“Last meeting of the week. My guy Ser’Darius Blain Great food, great stories, great heart. This guy is legit a story teller. Had an extra seat saved for Caleb Castille but he’s a working man with scenes to prep. Committed to his craft. Raincheck lil bro!” he wrote.

He also shared a photo with legendary actor Jon Voight.

“And to top off the day, the highlight of my year or maybe the decade was holding court with my pal Jon Voight at his favorite restaurant. Then he decided to prank call legendary actor Bruce McGill. I adore this man,” he added.

Several of these men have also attended the Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry, and often choose faith-filled projects.

Andy’s next movie with Kingdom Story Company comes out next spring.

Movieguide® previously reported on the Erwin Brothers’ upcoming movie, JESUS REVOLUTION:

THE CHOSEN’s Jonathan Roumie, Kelsey Grammer, Joel Courtney and Anna Grace Barlow are set to star in JESUS REVOLUTION, a movie by Kingdom Story Company.

The movie follows Greg Laurie’s book, Jesus Revolution, about “the true story of a national spiritual awakening in the early 1970’s and its origins within a community of teenage hippies in Southern California.”

THE KISSING BOOTH’s Courtney will portray Laurie with Barlow as his wife, Cathe. Grammer will replace Jim Gaffigan as Chuck Smith, and Movieguide® Grace Prize® Winner Roumie will take on the role of Lonnie Frisbee.

Movieguide® Award winners Jon Erwin and John Gunn will write the script, with Gunn directing.

“Pray for the cast and crew, that they will either come closer to Jesus or some might even meet him for the first time!” Laurie wrote on Instagram. “Our prayer is that this film will prompt young people (And all people for that matter) to say, ‘Do it again, Lord!’. It’s been said, ‘The fame of revival spreads the FLAME of revival.’”

“The Jesus Movement was the last great American spiritual awakening,” he added. “Some historians have said it was the greatest revival of all time. Let’s pray for another. I also appreciate prayers as this film goes into production.”
