To celebrate Christmas, BLUEY announced it will release a holiday album this fall to help families around the world get into the spirit of the season.
“This is truly a great representation of an Australian Christmas!” composer Joff Bush said about the first song on the album, “Let’s Play Verandah Santa.” “It was created using score from the original episode to make sure when you listen to this track you can feel like you’re back in the episode and playing along with Bluey and her family!”

“Let’s Play Verandah Santa” is one of four new BLUEY songs coming out this year to celebrate the Christmas season. While each of the songs are new, three of them are remixed takes on songs from the show, while the fourth is an entirely new track. The album was made by Bush along with The Bluey Music team.
“We wanted to have a fun take on Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic, ‘The Nutcracker’ (one of our favorite pieces) because a fun Christmas needs fun music! We also wanted a ’50s Disney-esque sound like some of our favorite Christmas records,” The Bluey Music Team said about the second song on the album, “Verandah Santa.”
The third track on the album is the wholly original song, “I Don’t Have A Chimney,” which is written from the perspective of Santa-obsessed kids. While the fourth and final song is a Christmas version of the “Bluey Theme Tune.”
“We had heaps of fun adding to the original extended theme from the first album with snippets from other tracks like ‘Instrument Parade’ and some references to ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Joy To The World’ – and of course adding some fun percussion and other Christmassy flair,” Bush said of the last song.
Like many other kids shows, BLUEY has found great success through music that teaches kids life lessons alongside a catchy tune. In July, the franchise crossed 1 billion lifetime audio streams across all platforms, a milestone few artists ever reach, let alone TV shows.
Beyond music, BLUEY continues to expand its reach through plans for a movie and a video game.
“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3,” BLUEY creator JoeBrumm said in a press release, referring to a popular episode of BLUEY that received a Movieguide® Teddy Bear Award® nomination. “So going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that. I’ve always thought BLUEY deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
The “Bluey: Verandah Santa” album will be available starting Nov. 7. Meanwhile, the first song, “Verandah Santa” is now available wherever you stream music.
