Cote de Pablo takes her role as an action-filled NCIS agent seriously.

In an interview with PEOPLE, de Pablo revealed that she filled in for her own stunt double for NCIS: TONY & ZIVA.

“There were a couple of accidents on the first episode we shot, and they both had to stand down,” the actress recalled. “At one point, the director looked to me and she was like, ‘Can we finish it with you?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, let’s do it.'”

She added that most of the “big stunts were obviously done,” emphasizing that those behind the show would never risk her getting injured.

The series sees de Pablo’s Ziva David reunited with Michael Weatherly’s Tony DiNozzo.

After Ziva’s apparent death, Tony raises their daughter Tali. Years later, Ziva returns and reunites with Tony. Tony’s company is attacked, and the family travels to Europe to learn who’s after them and how to trust each other again,” the synopsis reads.

The first season of TONY & ZIVA finishes airing on Oct. 23, but fans already wonder if there’s going to be a second season.

“I think we’d be lucky to play these characters for — look, I’ll say this: Season 1 was like a dream. It was so much fun to go back and revisit these characters. Where this goes, we know not,” she told TV Insider.

She added, “Michael and I felt we owed it to the fans. And so, we’re really happy about this just being able to happen… It came together beautifully.”

Movieguide®’s review of NCIS: TONY AND ZIVA reads, “The first two episodes of NCIS: TONY & ZIVA continue the thrills and comedy that made NCIS so popular. They have exciting and sometimes funny action scenes with fighting, gun battles and jeopardy.”

The review notes, “The episodes miss the camaraderie of the rest of the NCIS team. They’re also marred by seven annoying, unnecessary strong obscenities and profanities. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution for TONY & ZIVA.”

NCIS has grown as a franchise ever since the inception of the show JAG in 1995. In 2003, the story continued with the flagship NCIS show. The show ran for 19 seasons starring Mark Harmon as Special Agent Gibbs, continuing on after his exit. It has sparked many spinoffs including NCIS: LOS ANGELES, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, NCIS: HAWAI’I, NCIS: SYDNEY, NCIS: ORGINS and NCIS: TONY & ZIVA. Currently, ORIGINS has been renewed for a second season, but fans will have to wait to see what’s in store for TONY & ZIVA.
