Netflix just announced its stacked NFL lineup for 2026.
The streaming giant released its NFL schedule earlier this week, which kicks off in Week 1 in Australia between divisional rivals the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.
Netflix won’t air another game until Thanksgiving week. On Wednesday, Nov. 25, the platform will stream the Green Bay Packers at the Los Angeles Rams.
On Christmas Day, Netflix will air two games, one at 1 p.m. ET and another at 4:30 p.m. ET. The opponents are yet to be announced, but Netflix hopes this game will produce record-breaking views. Last year “Netflix’s Christmas Day broadcast of the Detroit Lions versus the Minnesota Vikings was the most-streamed NFL regular season game in US history,” the streaming service reported.
Then in Week 18, Netflix will stream a game on Saturday, Jan. 9, showing the final weekend of the regular season.
According to Variety, Netflix will also air the NFL Honors, which is the “league’s annual awards presentation the week of the Super Bowl, around the world. In years past, it has been aired by the network also running the Super Bowl.”
Like other streamers, Netflix is tapping into live sporting events and even creating sports docuseries to draw more viewers.
In July, Netflix will return with Season 3 of QUARTERBACK, which will feature Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders), Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Cam Ward (Tennessee Titans) and Joe Flacco (Cincinnati Bengals).
“From injuries and trades to parenthood and expanding families, QUARTERBACK Season 3 highlights an all-new roster of signal callers at different crossroads of their NFL careers,” a synopsis reads.
Netflix released a behind-the-scenes look at the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders called AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS. It follows the “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from auditions to training camp and the NFL season as they chase their dreams and a coveted spot on the squad,” a synopsis of the series reads.
Netflix also just aired the fight between Tyson Fury and Arslanbek Makhmudov, where Fury came out victorious via a decision from the judges. The fight garnered 5 million viewers in the UK alone.
With a schedule spanning from an international kickoff in Australia to the high-stakes drama of the regular-season finale, Netflix is no longer just a spectator in the world of live sports — it is becoming a primary destination, bridging the gap between live broadcasting and streaming.
