COUNTY RESCUE Gets Second Season on Great American Family

By Movieguide® Contributor

Great American Family’s first original drama series is getting a second season.

“COUNTRY RESCUE exemplifies our commitment to uplifting content that celebrates faith and family in an engaging way,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “The series highlights the heroism of EMTs and first responders, focusing on their character development and inspirational stories rather than solely on life-threatening incidents. The exceptional talent of our cast, producers and directors are the driver of the show’s success, and they make it a pleasure to announce the renewal for a second season.”

“The series is a drama about the unique challenges EMTs and paramedics face on both their personal and professional journeys. The ensemble cast is led by Julia Reilly, Riley Hough, Percy Bell, Kristin Wollett, Brett Varvel, Stacey Patino, Tim Ross, Keller Fornes, Angel Luis, and Curtia Torbert,” Entertainment Focus reported.

The network looks toward an early 2025 premiere date. Unlike the first season, which only had five episodes, the second season will have ten episodes, per Parade.

The show is produced by JD DeWitt, Brian Baugh and Shawn Boskie.

Boskie is passionate about including God in the storyline. And the characters really integrate their faith into their work and personal life.

“And that’s the life that we live [as Christians] — we don’t walk around telling everybody about Jesus at every moment. But the Lord does influence our life profoundly,” Boskie said in an interview.

“[Audiences] want to come home from work and they want to binge watch multiple seasons of characters that they love,” Boskie said. “COUNTRY RESCUE has that. Medical dramas tend to draw an audience in. You get to follow these characters through their trials and their victories. That’s why I’m so enthusiastic about this.”

Part of Movieguide®’s +3 review of Season 1 Episodes 1.1. and 1.2 read:

COUNTY RESCUE is a medical drama series on Great American Family. The program follows Dani Miller, a young woman who’s competing for one paramedic job against the local fire chief’s impulsive but likeable son and an over-qualified, compassionate rookie. In the first two episodes, viewers learn Dani’s parents don’t approve of her newfound religious ideals and her decision to quit pre-med and follow God’s calling to be a first responder. Also, despite having a great bedside manner with victims, Dani makes two mistakes that hurt her chances of winning the paramedic job.

The first two episodes of COUNTY RESCUE are compelling, engaging, dramatic, and sometimes funny. The dialogue is nicely written, and the performances are really good and appealing. In fact, the two half-hour episodes are fairly comparable to what viewers can find on Network TV medical series. However, the first two episodes of COUNTY RESCUE have a strong Christian, moral worldview, with references to God and His providence. They also have references to prayer, including an answered prayer in the Name of Jesus. COUNTY RESCUE is an uplifting, inspiring program for families.
