HOME TOWN heroes Ben and Erin Napier just got back from Scotland, and Erin has a few questions.
Erin shared her “thoughts on international travel” on Instagram on July 18.
“can you die from jet lag?” she wondered. “is there a reason they don’t have ranch in the UK? i mean, have they tasted it?”
Good question, Erin.
“i wish our drink bottles had those flip tops,” she said. “AC is really great, and very special. i wish we had no dyes in our food like the UK but i wish their laundry soap worked better.”
She added she looked for the Loch Ness monster and didn’t see her but won’t stop believing she’s real.
She shared photos of her and Ben in front of Loch Ness and their daughters walking down a path next to the water.
“i like our toilets that flush reliably,” Erin continued. “i like their midges more than our mosquitoes. gleneagles thought of EVERYTHING.”
“it is a long flight across the ocean. house of bruar was like a fever dream. IYKYK. travel makes your kids flexible and indestructible!” and “@houseofthenortherngate is my favorite place,” She finished.
The Napiers shared lots of other moments from their trip, including a clan dinner with Ben in a kilt and Erin in a long plaid skirt.

They borrowed a vintage Land Rover — something that’s been on Ben’s bucket list — to roam the Scottish countryside and saw beautiful hills, sheep and historical places.
“The only way to see the Scottish countryside (or anywhere in the UK) is in classic Land Rover,” Ben shared with photos.
The fans loved their trip updates.
“Scotland is beautiful and a favorite destination. Love exploring my heritage homeland,” one fan said. “Happy you both got to do it!”
“[Ben] really looks like he’s in his own element!!” one person said. “Awesome, hope you guys had a wonderful and blessed time!!”
“I have a feeling this won’t be the last time you visit Scotland 🤣,” another fan said. “Ben looks like he has found his second home❤️ Safe travels and blessings to your family.”
The Napiers will soon resume filming for their show, HOME TOWN, which HGTV renewed for 32 more episodes.
“The HGTV family is where we belong,” the couple said. “Shows are often impermanent but HOME TOWN endures, we think, because it lives on a network that teaches and gives comfort to people. It’s more than pretty houses. That’s something we are proud to be part of.”
The number of episodes varies each season but the show will return with Season 10 later this year.
