Tara-Leigh Cobble, a speaker, author, teacher and podcaster, had trouble reading the Bible from cover to cover.

“I would get to Leviticus, and that’s where the train went off the tracks,” she told Relevant Magazine.

So, she created “The Bible Recap Podcast.”

However, after over 100 hours a week of work and several health battles, Cobble wasn’t sure if what she was doing mattered — until she read an email from a 21-year-old Hindu college student in Mumbai.

Utkarsh was required to read the Bible by his English professor. However, he didn’t understand any of it. That’s when he found The Bible Recap. Utkarsh emailed Cobble to ask if he could ask her questions.

“All I cared about was answering this Hindu man’s questions,” Cobble told Relevant Magazine.

As Utkarsh and Cobble kept conversing, eventually Utkarsh became a Christian, a decision that would cost him his family and home.

Anytime Cobble gets tired or burdened, she remembers her conversations with Utkarsh and focuses on one person at a time. Her mindset shifted from subscribers and views to focusing on “the one.”

“I don’t care about that,” Cobble said. “I’m able to engage with the one because I’m not thinking about the big number.”

Now, that “one” has become almost half a billion downloads.

Last year, “nearly 3 million people on the Bible app learned to read, understand, and love God and His Word more!” The Bible Recap shared in a post on Instagram.

The Bible Recap “follows a chronological Bible reading plan and is a short daily recap by creator and host, Tara-Leigh Cobble. She’ll highlight and summarize that day’s Bible reading in a casual, easy to understand way,” a synopsis explains. It takes various forms, including a podcast, book and video.

“It’s just incredible what the Lord is doing through this and in individual hearts and lives,” Cobble told the Christian Post earlier this year. “When our hearts and lives are transformed, we don’t shut up about it. We just keep talking, and we want to tell everybody. And so, the people that are hearing — it’s whetting their appetite. What I see happening is an awakening within the Church that is piquing the curiosity outside the Church.”

Cobble shares a new video each day that is about eight minutes long with a Bible reading plan, which consists of 12 minutes. Cobble has also released a “one-year guide to reading and understanding the entire Bible.”

In this book, Cobble “walks readers through a 365-day chronological Bible reading plan and explains each day’s passage in an easy-to-understand way.”

Though it hasn’t been easy, Cobble’s faithfulness to the mission God gave her has resulted in millions digging into their Bibles.
