Hollywood power couple Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy find connection through an unconventional date night: watching THE CHOSEN together.
“Other than stuff like this,” Wahlberg told Fox News Digital, referring to the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards, “date night for us though typically looks like…we make a big plan, we’re about to get ready, and then we say, ‘Ah, let’s stay in and watch THE CHOSEN. And then we watch THE CHOSEN. That’s kind of like date nights nowadays.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s definitely takeout and sitting back,” McCarthy added of their faith-filled date nights.
Wahlberg and McCarthy definitely don’t shy away from sharing their faith, despite their Hollywood careers.
For Easter, the couple posted a video to Instagram of them singing along to CeCe Winans’ “Holy Forever.”

“Happy Easter! Happy Resurrection Day! He is Risen! Sending blessings to you and your family. Love you all,” McCarthy wrote in the caption.
People in the comment section celebrated Christ’s resurrection along with them.
“Sing Yall!! ❤️🙌🏾” Winans wrote. Another fan commented, “Love you two & yes HE IS RISEN!!✝️🙌”
Studies show that sharing faith and praying together can benefit relationships significantly, including providing “a higher degree of satisfaction, less conflict and a lower risk of infidelity,” per Psychology Today.
“We’ve surrendered. We really have given our life to the Lord and are just trusting the path, and honoring what we’re here to do through him,” McCarthy recently said about her and Wahlberg’s commitment to faith.
It’s clear the couple deeply loves each other.
“Being married to him, [he] treats me like a queen,” McCarthy gushed about their marriage earlier this year. “Communicates, loves me. He is absolutely what you could call textbook, truly perfect.”
Wahlberg expressed similar sentiments about his wife.
“I don’t know if I can answer how she’s supported it as much as I can answer how much – which is a million, billion percent,” he told Country Living last year. “In every way, she’s a confidant, a cheerleader, a supporter. The way she describes it is that she will hold my kite strings and let me fly.”
He added, “And there are times when I’m going to hold her kite strings and let her fly and when she comes down for landing, I’m right there as her support on the ground. That’s just what we do for each other. And she’s really smart. She’s been in this industry for a long time herself, so she’s great to bounce ideas off and sound things out with.”
Whether in Hollywood or not, having faith and a shared love for Jesus brings couples together in a secure and profound way.
