Seven months after welcoming her first child, Lindsay Lohan is reflecting on how motherhood has changed her.

“Everything’s changing,” she told E! Online. “It’s a learning process — I’m having a different go at it. Figuring out what I want to do and how I want to do it.”

One of those changes is the type of movies she plans to work on in the future.

“I want to do things that my son can see,” Lohan explained. “But I also want to do things that inspire me.”

Lohan gave birth to son Luai last year. She shares him with her husband, Bader Shammas.

She also mentioned that this time in Luai’s life is good because she “can bring him everywhere” while she’s working.

“And he is everywhere with me, because I don’t want to leave him. But I think it will definitely play more of a factor as time passes,” Lohan said.

The actress spoke further about what she hopes to teach her son in an interview with Page Six.

“I’m really grateful because I’ve gained so much wisdom from the things that I’ve gone through,” Lohan explained. “I can’t wait to share that with…my son when he gets older.”

Lohan has also shared the joy she’s found in motherhood over social media. One post reads, “I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery. Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world!”

Movieguide® previously reported on the birth of Lohan’s son:

Actress Lindsay Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas, recently confirmed that they delivered their first baby boy!

A representative told PEOPLE, “Lindsay Lohan and her Financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai. The family is over the moon in love.”

The child’s exact date of birth has yet to be released.

Luai was born in Dubai and is an Arabic name which means “shield or protector.”

Lohan previously told Allure in June, “I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom. Happy tears. That’s just who I am. Though now, it’s probably baby emotion. It’s overwhelming in a good way.”
