Natasha Bure Encourages Trust In The Lord: ‘The Lord Only Has Plans to Prosper You’

Natasha Bure, the daughter of actress Candace Cameron Bure and former hockey player Valeri Bure, recently shared an important lesson that her father taught her as a child.
Natasha, 24, encouraged her followers to seek God’s plan and shared a story from her childhood to illustrate her point.
“My Dad made it his mission when I was younger to cultivate healthy habits in the lives of my brothers and I,” Bure wrote in a recent Instagram post. “He trained us in tennis everyday, and a part of that was going to bed early, eating healthy, etc. We always begged him to let us eat loads of junk food, and be lazy on the couch for as long as we wanted… finally one random Saturday night, he told us we could.”
“We stayed up as late as our bodies would allow us and stuffed our faces with all the desserts we could find in the freezer till our stomachs were about to burst,” she said. “I remember thinking in the moment how fun it was…. Until the next morning came. We were tired, cranky, sick from all the junk, and it affected the whole next day of training. My flesh wanted to do all these things that I thought would make me feel good, but my Dad saw the bigger picture and knew what was really best for us.”
While the temptations and trials look different now, Natasha encouraged people to rely on their heavenly father’s plan for their lives instead of their plans.
“I might not struggle with the same ‘wants’ from when I was 7, but there are many things that my heart and flesh do desire, that the Lord does not want for my life,” Bure said. “That can range from a bunch of different things… certain relationships, what I choose to fill my brain with on a daily basis, the language I use, how I conduct myself, etc. Only He knows what is best.”
“I hear this term so often…. ‘Follow your heart’ and ‘do what makes you happy,’” she continued. “Yet the truth is, our heart has the ability to deceive us so quickly from what is good and right. Jeremiah 17:9 says ‘The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.’ Just because it might ‘feel right’ and our heart tells us to do it, doesn’t mean that’s what the Lord is calling you to.”
The former Movieguide® Award Gala host pointed people back to Christ and his love.
“Turn to Him and ask him where it is that HE wants you…. And the hard part is, sometimes we don’t receive the answer we’re looking for,” she shared. “We might be called to let go of a relationship, move to a new city, conduct yourself in a different fashion, wait patiently on something you desire now, not later… and all these things may feel uncomfortable to do. But if God knows what is best, why should we worry?”
“I’ve prayed many times for the Lord to work on MY PLAN… but what good is my plan? Our flesh will fail us every time, but the Lord only has plans to prosper you,” she concluded.
Bure recently starred alongside her mother in the latest AURORA TEAGARDEN movie.
