Production has begun for NCIS Season 23, and the cast just shared some behind-the-scenes peeks with fans.
“We’re BACK! Mark your calendars for our new night, Tuesdays at 8pm, starting October 14th. #NCIS,” Wilmer Valderrama, who plays agent Nicholas Torres, shared in an Instagram video of him suiting up and walking through the season’s set.
Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer, posted a photo of his character’s glasses on Instagram: “I’m putting these on my face now,” he said.
“Hello Jimmy Palmer. Hello NCIS, Hello season 23, and hello Tuesday nights at 8/9c on CBS! We are so back,” he added.
Even Sean Murray, AKA Special Agent Timothy McGee, said “NEW SEASON of #NCIS coming to you this fall :)” with a photo of desktop in NCIS HQ that read “NCIS SEASON 23 10/14.”
Moving from Monday to Tuesday timeslots, the show releases on Oct. 14 along with Season 2 of NCIS: ORIGINS.

Excited fans filled the comments.
“Seriously can’t wait for this!!! Best crew ever!!” one said.
“So excited to see the team back 😍” another said.
Showrunner Steven D. Binder said the new season will be more character-centric than ever before.
“We really want to get to everybody in a big way. I know people always say, ‘I watch the show for the characters’ — that was always our thing — and I really want to make this a character-forward show in a way we haven’t seen before,” he said. “So, if you’re invested in these people, this is going to be the season for you.”
Leroy Jethro Gibbs has been at the forefront of all previous storylines that leaned toward being character-focused, so now it’s time for some others’ stories to shine.
“This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. In collaboration with our extraordinarily talented partners in front of and behind the camera, we look forward to delivering another successful season.”
Season 23 saw Agent Parker learning of his father’s death.
In the new season, “He’s going to be destabilized and he’s going to be out for revenge and out for blood in a way that it will seem very atypical for someone like him, not a way you’d expect a character like him to behave and yet entirely motivated and justified,” Binder said. “We had some precedent in the past in our show with this. Gibbs [Mark Harmon] was a man on fire when his wife and daughter were killed.”
Fans can expect to see Parker determined and a little unhinged.
