RED FISH, BLUE FISH, a new Netflix series based on Dr. Seuss’s book, premieres on Sept. 8.

The animated series follows two oddball fish friends as they discover opposites. The two have fun with other undersea characters as they explore new concepts, Parents reported on Aug. 11.

Brian Drummond voices Red and Andrea Libman voices Blue. Naomi Tan serves as the narrator. Becky Friedman serves as showrunner. She’s worked on DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, T.O.T.S. and PUPSTRUCTION. Dustin Ferrer and Steven Conner serve as executive producers.

The first season has five episodes. The first episode, “Build/Destroy + Hot/Cold,” is currently available on the Netflix Jr. YouTube channel.

Two other animated Dr. Seuss series will come to Netflix this fall. DR. SEUSS’S HORTON! releases Oct. 6, and a special called THE SNEETCHES will premiere on Nov. 3 as a part of the “World of Dr. Seuss.”

“Dr. Seuss characters are loved all over the world, so we’re very excited to be the home of this entire lineup,” said Heather Tilert, who serves as Director of Kids + Preschool Original Series at Netflix.

DR. SUESS’S HORTON features a young elephant and his best friend, Samson, as they help residents of the Jungle of Nool.

“In every episode, Horton the elephant and his best bird pal, Samson, help an animal in the Jungle of Nool with an unconventional problem,” said Tilert. She added that Brown Bag Films has “done an incredible job bringing this cutie patootie to life.”

THE SNEETCHES is a 45-minute-long special about special creatures who learn to accept each other’s differences.

The official synopsis reads, “Once upon a time, there were Star-Belly Sneetches and Moon-Belly Sneetches who lived together on the beach, until one day they decided they were too different to live together. So they went their separate ways. But then Stella, a Star-Belly Sneetch, met Pearl, a Moon-Belly Sneetch, and they realized Sneetches are Sneetches, and no one kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches.”

“We think of this one as a great introduction to a kind of family movie night for kids aged 5 to 10,” Tilert said.

Tilert said RED FISH, BLUE FISH is ideal for kids age 4 to 7. It’s “filled with a ton of squash and stretch visual comedy.”

Netflix is also working on other upcoming Dr. Seuss projects: THIDWICK THE BIG-HEARTED MOOSE and WACKY WEDNESDAY.

Susan Brandt, President and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said previously, “Dr. Seuss Enterprises is proud of the collaborative relationship we share with Netflix. We are always looking for new and engaging ways to share our stories, characters and messages with the next generation of fans, and Netflix has a unique ability to create original, delightful adaptations of our timeless classics with an emphasis on imagination, fun, and education.”

She said, “Our partnership has been very prosperous thus far with our award-winning animated series GREEN EGGS AND HAM. We hope to continue that success with our upcoming projects.”

There’s plenty coming to keep your young Dr. Seuss fans entertained.
