Christian artists Phil Wickham and Crowder just released a new (but actually old) track called “It Really Is Amazing Grace.”
“Last year, it was a true joy and honor putting out a fresh version of ‘Awesome God,'” Wickham wrote on Instagram. “It got me thinking, I’ve never recorded the timeless hymn, ‘Amazing Grace.’ So we sped up the tempo a bit and made the verses sound like this.”
He said that he’s “VERY excited about this one,” adding in the caption, “I couldn’t believe I’ve never put out a version of this hymn!?! As a worship leader for 25 years I am ALWAYS searching for upbeat songs that carry spiritual substance, joy, and are just fun to sing. This one checks all those boxes for me!”
“It’s called ‘IT REALLY IS AMAZING GRACE,’ and it rips you guys!” he continued. “I might even put this one at the top of the Song Of The Saints Tour set I like it so much. So stoked and honored to have my friend @crowder join me in releasing this song. Can’t wait for you all to join us in dancing and singing.”
The lyrics to his reimagined version of “Amazing Grace” read:

How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I’m found
Was blind but now I see, yeahSinging hallelujah
There’s no chains on me
Thank You, Jesus
You have set me free
You welcomed me in, called me by name
Was dead in my sin, now I’m dancing on that grave
Hallelujah, it really is amazing grace
“So thankful for this hymn and all the memories I have with it. I’ve sung it for such a long time, and I’m so excited to keep singing and sharing it with the world,” Wickham shared in another post.
Wickham will embark on his “Song of the Saints Tour 2026” on March 18 in Birmingham, Alabama. It will conclude in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in May, and he’ll be joined by Grammy-nominated artist Tauren Wells and singer Jamie MacDonald.
“So excited to share that this spring I’m headed to 24 cities around the country for the Song Of The Saints Tour! I believe God is going to do amazing things through these nights, and I can’t wait to lift up praise to heaven with every one of you!” Wickham shared on Instagram. “I’m also so honored to have the amazing @taurenwells out on this tour and special guest @jamiemacdonaldmusic Both of these artists are such incredible worship leaders and are going to bring so much to these nights.”
Wickham and Crowder’s “It Really Is Amazing Grace” is available to stream on all platforms.
