THE PIONEER WOMAN Gets Best Opportunity Yet: Grandma

THE PIONEER WOMAN’s Ree Drummond just found out she is going to be a grandmother.
Drummond’s daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, and her husband, Mauricio Scott, are expecting their first child.
“Alex and Mauricio just shared some big news today, and they asked me to share it here with you, since many of you have read my blog since my oldest was about nine years old,” Drummond wrote on her blog. “Rather than just come out with the news right away, though, I think I’ll let my perfect granddog George be the first to share. Check out his bandana…”
George is wearing a sage green bandana with the words “big bro” written on it.
“Yes, it’s true! Alex and Mauricio are expecting—and I don’t mean a puppy, though I wouldn’t put it past them (or me) to treat news of an upcoming new puppy in the exact same way as a pregnancy announcement,” Drummond continued.
Alex shared the news via her Instagram where she wrote, “We can’t wait to meet you, little one. ? Baby Scott joining the party this winter!”
“Thank you Lord for this precious gift,” she added.
Drummond can’t believe she will be a grandmother soon.
“It’s surreal, and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of momentarily leaving your body after hearing upon hearing similar news,” she wrote.
“We have no idea what being grandparents will look like or how much it will change our lives,” she continued. “I will probably watch less Bravo, maybe? (Maybe not.) Can grandmothers have long hair? Can grandfathers look sexy in Wranglers? How long before the baby can ride a horse? How many pairs of baby cowboy boots are too many? Do I suggest names or do I keep my dumb ideas to myself? Can grandmothers wear skinny jeans? Can I move in with Alex and Mauricio for the next three years?”
Drummond is already figuring out what she wants her grandchild to call her.
“Granny. Granny Ree Ree? Maybe just Ree Ree. We’ll wait and see! (Swipe if you missed the news…?❤️ So happy.),” she posted on Instagram.

“Drummond and her husband Ladd, who live in rural Oklahoma, welcomed Paige, Bryce and Todd, along with Paige’s boyfriend, back home on Sunday,” Fox News reported. “Paige lives in Dallas, along with her older sister Alex, while Bryce and Todd play football at Oklahoma State University and the University of South Dakota, respectively.”
