‘There Is Great Wisdom’: Elon Musk Says The Teachings of Jesus Are Important

Entrepreneur and business mogul Elon Musk, best known for electric car company Tesla and SpaceX, recently said that he thought the teachings of Jesus were important for society.
In a candid interview with the popular Christian satire site The Babylon Bee, Musk was prompted to give his life to Jesus. While the interviewers were jesting, Musk obliged their question by sharing his opinion on Jesus.
“Final question to pull some time out here, Babylon Bee is a Christian organization and we’re a ministry,” said Ethan Nicolle.
Musk joked: “How come we’re doing the show on a Sunday? Why aren’t you heathens in church? God said don’t work on Sundays, OK. You guys are going straight to Hell for this one.”
Nicolle continued: “To make this Church, we’re wondering if you could do us a quick solid and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior?”
Musk said that he acknowledges and respects Christ’s teachings.
“Things like turn the other cheek are very important, as opposed to an eye for an eye. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind,” Musk maintained.
Musk also noted that forgiveness was also important.
However, Musk stopped short of professing Christ as his savior.
“As Einstein would say, ‘I believe in the God of Spinoza,'” Musk added, allegedly referencing an Einstein quote from 1921 which reads: “I believe in Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings.”
“But hey, if Jesus is saving people, I mean, I won’t stand in His way. Sure, I’ll be saved. Why not?” Musk concluded.
While Musk is not practicing a religion publicly, he said he was baptized as a child and participated in communion.
Ahead of his SpaceX project in 2020, Musk said that he was not religious.
“I’m not very religious, but I prayed for this one,” Musk said.
