Twitter Permanently Suspends Project Veritas, James O’Keefe

Twitter permanently suspended the account of investigative journalist James O’Keefe, the founder of the organization Project Veritas, and the official Project Veritas account.

The ban comes after O’Keefe released several videos of senior CNN employees who admit to using “propaganda.”

In O’Keefe’s initial response, he promised to sue the social media platform on defamation grounds.

“I am suing Twitter for defamation because they said I, James O’Keefe, ‘operated fake accounts. This is false, this is defamatory, and they will pay. Section 230 may have protected them before, but it will not protect them from me. The complaint will be filed Monday,” O’Keefe said.

The ban of the two accounts comes days after Project Veritas released the first in a series of videos that expose CNN through an interview with their technical director Charlie Chester.

Firstly, Chester admitted that CNN actively uses propaganda to sway the public. The most recent example is when CNN produced negative coverage of unproven allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

“It would be great for the Democratic party to get him out. So we’re going to keep running those stories to keep hurting him,” Chester said.

Moreover, Chester revealed CNN’s partisan approach to covering mass shootings and not covering violence against Asian Americans from “a bunch of black men” because “the optics of that are not good” and CNN is “trying to help BLM.”

The suspensions were met with outrage from the conservative community on Twitter.

“This is pure censorship for political reasons because he has successfully exposed CNN, the media and Democrats,” conservative influencer Robby Starbuck wrote on Twitter.

“O’Keefe exposes CNN for lying about me and Donald Trump for propaganda,” Rep. Matt Gaetz said. “Then Twitter suspends him.”

According to Breitbart News, a Twitter spokesperson said O’Keefe was “permanently suspended for violating the Twitter Rules on platform manipulation and spam.”

“You can’t mislead others on Twitter by operating fake accounts,” and “you can’t artificially amplify or disrupt conversations through the use of multiple accounts,” the spokesperson said.
