Actor Vin Diesel said he wants to make yet another FAST AND FUROUS sequel to please his children.
“I would be very cautious about talking about that, because if my kids even for a minute thought that I was wrapping up the saga, they would boycott,” Diesel told USA Today. “I have to be careful. They have great control over Daddy.”
Though the FURIOUS franchise says it’s about “family,” the series is anything but family friendly. Most movies in the franchise received at least a -2 or “extreme caution” warning from Movieguide®, with some receiving a -3 warning, or excessive content issues.
However, there are some redemptive elements in the movies.
Moiveguide®’s review of FAST AND FURIOUS 6 says,
“Like its immediate predecessor, FAST & FURIOUS 6 has a series of action-packed, exciting set pieces. Even better, by the end of the movie, the filmmakers have lifted up family, home, loyalty, protecting people, sacrifice, and even prayer.”
THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS also features a very strong Christian worldview.
“Staying true to the franchise’s theme, the movie extols the importance of family. Also, like recent entries, it features strong, positive and heartwarming Christian, moral elements. The team even gives thanks to God over a meal together at the end.”
If the 10th sequel gets the greenlight, audiences will have to wait quite a while to see it. F9, the newest movie in the saga, postponed its release date due to Coronavirus concerns and will hit theaters on April 2, 2021.
