Tim Tebow raises awareness about sex trafficking ahead of this year’s World Day Against Trafficking.
“300,000+ new sex ads go live online every day… And thousands of them include children,” he posted on Instagram. “Over 1 million people are believed to be sex trafficked in the U.S.”
Tebow explained that human trafficking is a “complex” issue, and experts can’t even agree on the statistics for victims of this abuse.
“This isn’t just a systems issue. It’s a vision issue. Trafficking begins when we stop seeing people as people,” he wrote. “When culture turns hearts cold…and eyes blind.”
He shared online comments from traffickers in the US, where people referred to these victims as “an object placed there by society for men…to use and move on with life.”
Another wrote that abusing these victims is “the gold standard for men’s spiritual health.”
Tebow shared scripture that directly contradicted these disturbing comments, including Isaiah 43:4 — “You are precious in My eyes, and honored, and I love you” — and Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Tebow concluded, “Ahead of World Day Against Trafficking (07/30), let’s not just raise awareness to fight human trafficking, let’s reclaim the God-given worth of every life.”
This year’s World Day Against Trafficking takes place July 30, with nations around the world participating in the move to raise awareness about this global issue.
“This year’s campaign highlights the vital role of law enforcement and the criminal justice system in dismantling organized trafficking networks while ensuring a victim-centered approach,” the United Nations’ website shared. “Your active involvement bridges the gap between the campaign’s global reach and local realities, ensuring it effectively connects with those impacted by human trafficking.”
Tebow has made the fight against human trafficking his mission, working tirelessly to raise awareness, promote legislation protecting victims and partner with law enforcement to rescue victims of trafficking.
“I don’t want awareness for awareness’s sake,” Tebow said during an appearance on “The Shawn Ryan Show.” “I want people to be aware so we act to do something.”
He continued, “Use your skill set, your resources, for good. That doesn’t mean you have to stand with us but stand for good. Stand for the most vulnerable.”
Tebow’s post is a harrowing reminder of the dangers so many around the world are facing and the importance of joining the fight against human trafficking.
