Grammy award-winning Christian artist CeCe Winans spoke about the power of praise in life’s lowest moments while on TBN’s BETTER TOGETHER.
“You’ll feel depression, but depression can’t stay where praise is continuing to happen,” Winans began. “You have to keep praising Him and keep — because you let the light in.”
She continued, “You know how you can be in the room, and the shades are closed? Praise will open up those shades for you. It’s like, ‘Oh, I can breathe.’ You know what I’m saying? …He inhabits the praises of His people. And so whenever you need Him, whenever I need Him to come down in my situation, I have to praise Him. I have to think about who he is and not what I’m going through.”
Winans and the hosts of TBN then took a moment to praise God through song.
“His strength is perfect,” she began to sing. “When our strength is gone. He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on. Raised in his power, the weak become strong.”
Winans is currently on her “Christmas with CeCe Winans” tour.

Fellow Christian artists Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith joined Winans at her stops across the country.
“Last night in Detroit was so special! Being on the road with @amygrantofficialand @mwsmithofficial has been such a gift. There’s nothing like worshiping together and celebrating the hope of Jesus with all of you. My heart is full! ❤️” Winans shared in a post on social media.
“Cincinnati & Atlanta! Thank you for showing up and making these last 2 nights so memorable and special. It sure is feeling a lot like Christmas this last week. St. Louis we’re coming to you next for the final show!” Amy Grant echoed in a post earlier this week.
“Christmas Together Tour rehearsals are complete and I’m headed out this Friday with my dear friends @amygrant and @cecewinans to kick off the first show! Can’t wait to celebrate Christmas Together,” Smith posted back in November.
Winans released a Christmas album, Joyful Joyful, last year. The album features 12 tracks:
- “Joy To The World”
- “Angels We Have Heard On High (Joyful, Joyful)”
- “It’s Christmas”
- “Something’s Happening!”
- “This World Will Never Be The Same”
- “Giving Season”
- “The Grace of the Father”
- “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”
- “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”
- “I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day”
- “Feliz Navidad”
- “Silent Night”
In moments of heartache, retreat to praise, as Winans encourages. When we praise God, we direct our focus off of ourselves and back onto the Lord.
