Why Lola Sheen Held Back From Joining Reality TV: ‘I’m a Follower of Jesus’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Denise Richards’ daughter, Lola Sheen, initially held back from joining reality television because of her faith in Christ.
“I’m a follower of Jesus… [and] I really sat on it for a while with the Lord and I was like, ‘I don’t want to misinterpret you to others, but I know that this is an opportunity to shine His light,’” Sheen told US Weekly. “So then I decided to do it.”

Sheen will make her reality TV debut on DENISE RICHARDS AND HER WILD THINGS.
An official logline for the show reads:
Step into the glamorous yet chaotic world of actress, model, but most importantly, mother, Denise Richards as she navigates the complexities of blended family life with her daughters and new husband, Aaron. Follow along as they navigate the intricacies of modern influencing and celebrity status with everyday challenges, offering an intimate glimpse into their unique family life.
One reason Lola held back from reality TV is because of her strained relationship with her sister, Sami.
“We are sisters so we fight, but at the time we were having problems and so I never wanted to misinterpret Christ to anybody,” Lola said. That’s why I hesitated, but I realized I’m not perfect.”
Richards is grateful that her daughters wanted to join the show because she did not want to force them to do something they did not want to do.
“I wanted the girls to really want to do it, and I think it’s also a great time for them,” Richards said. “They’ve always lived basically in the shadows of their parents where they’re ‘the daughters of,’ and it’s a nice time for them to be able to be themselves and shine and be Sami and Lola.”

Lola recently shared her testimony online after posting a picture of her baptism.
“I was exposed to so much at such a young age. This is hard for me to talk about because it makes me really sad. I was exposed to so many demonic things when I was younger, just around very ungodly people,” Sheen said during the first episode of her “Heavenly Bonded” podcast. “This industry, you know, the acting industry, the whole fame thing, there are very dark parts to it.”
“And I want to share this because I feel like you can see someone who has famous parents, you can see a famous person and be like, ‘Oh my gosh, I want their life.’ But truly, you never know what someone’s going through, and it’s not as glamorous as it seems,” she continued. “There’s a lot that comes with it that is so harsh and so dark, and that’s what really affected me.”
Ultimately, Christ came to her rescue.
“I can’t explain it other than it was actually supernatural. But I remember one night I was lying in my bed…I was lying in my bed and I felt Jesus come in[to] my room, and I felt him hold my hand and say, ‘Try this again with me,’ and I can’t explain this, but it felt like He told me, ‘I’m here to rescue you. I’m here to save you tonight. You are going to be okay,’” Sheen said. “And He rescued me. He carried me through the darkest valley, and He saved my life that night. And Jesus, He fully became my refuge that night I met Him.”
