For World Day Against Trafficking on July 30, Tim Tebow shared how devaluing human life enables abusers to commit their heinous deeds without any remorse.
“300,000+ new sex ads go live online every day… And thousands of them include children. Over 1 million people are believed to be sex trafficked in the U.S. Human trafficking is so complex many experts can’t even agree on this stat, and some believe it’s too low,” Tebow shared on Instagram.
“This isn’t just a systems issue. It’s a vision issue. Trafficking begins when we stop seeing people as people,” Tebow continued. “When culture turns hearts cold…and eyes blind…Let’s not just raise awareness to fight human trafficking, let’s reclaim the God-given worth of every life.”
Tebow’s call to value all human life comes from clear teachings in the Bible that the Lord has placed inherent value on every single person. While we can forget that — and society often teaches lessons to the contrary — remembering this allows us to see others as the Lord sees them.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” King David wrote in Psalm 139: 13-14a.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,” Paul added in Ephesians 2:10.
It is by forgetting this truth that people treat others as if they have no worth. Unfortunately, this is the way that most people operate. Furthermore, those who have something to gain from an industry like human trafficking work hard to keep people blind to their evil acts.
When SOUND OF FREEDOM released in 2023, for example, it was met by many critics who called it a fear-mongering movie and attempted to politicize its message to create a base of people to oppose the movie without reason. Thankfully, though, the movie’s message cut through the noise, and not only did the story end up reaching millions of people, but it also led to real life action, including changes to state and federal legislation.
“Last week the Alabama Governor signed into law the Sound of Freedom Act, which changed the penalty for first-degree trafficking of children to a minimum of life in prison,” Neal Harmon, Angel Studios Chief Executive Officer, told Movieguide® in June of 2024. “And for us, we’re just grateful. We’re just grateful for the impact that this film’s having around the world and grateful that Movieguide® would recognize what an impact SOUND OF FREEDOM, the movie, has made.”
Though World Day Against Trafficking has passed, people should fight every day against this evil, starting by remembering the inherent value God has given each person.
