The Gilmore Girls will return by popular demand, but not in the way you may think. The iconic early 2000’s TV show still has fans wanting more, a wish that will be granted in the form of a book. Star Lauren Graham explained her new project: A Gilmore Girls book.
In a recent post to Instagram, Graham announced, “Because we love you, Amy and I are working on a new Gilmore Girls book. Get your coffee ready!”

People in the comment section expressed excitement over the news. “Just another 7 seasons would be fine,” one person joked. Another user added, “This is the BEST thing I’ve heard all year!”
Book publishers Celadon Books and Flatiron Books have spoken out on the project. President of Celadon books Deb Futter said, “This is THE book Gilmore Girls fans have been waiting for — and that is saying a lot. Lauren and Amy are television legends and their stories, which have not been shared before, are what TV lore is made of.”
Graham also made the statement, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Amy to bring readers all our stories of the special years we spent filming Gilmore Girls, the first and second time!”
This isn’t Graham’s first book. Recently, she celebrated the three-year anniversary of her book “Have I Told You This Already?”

Many are excited and also amazed that decades later, the show still has a dedicated fan-base. Recently, Milo Ventimiglia who played Rory’s boyfriend Jess, told US Weekly his thoughts on the show.
“I think that show in particular is just evergreen,” he told the outlet. “The writing on it, it’s the same today. I think just the way that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino had written that show, and what they were able to accomplish with creating this evergreen world, it’s hard to pinpoint, because I think if you can pinpoint it, then everybody would try to do it and replicate that, but you can’t necessarily replicate that one.”
Ventimiglia explained how he thinks there is a deeper reason behind the show’s popularity.
“The relationship between Lorelei and Rory, I think that was huge because of communication [between a] mother and a daughter, and just finding strength in that as a duo,” he said. “I think who Rory was in her decisions and her choices to seek higher education, I think that’s super, super inspiring for young women.”
