Some big Netflix titles aren’t going to have new episodes until 2027.
Shows like WEDNESDAY, GINNY & GEORGIA, RANSOM CANYON, UNTAMED and FOREVER are not in this year’s schedule. There’s a possibility that a couple could be added later on in the year, but most of them won’t come out until 2027, Fiction Horizon reported last week.
WEDNESDAY Season 3 has already begun to find new cast members, and there’s a rumor production will start next month. Eve Green is one of the new faces in the season.
GINNY & GEORGIA Season 3 started filming in the fall and will continue until February. RANSOM CANYON is closing on production, with no release date yet, but it’s likely to be in 2027.
Other shows likely to be continued next year are SUPACELL, DEPT. Q, GEEK GIRL, BET and HEARTBREAK HIGH.
UNTAMED, a crime thriller about Yellowstone ranger Kyle Turner, was meant to be a limited series, Tech Radar reported. It gained over 24 million views, though, so it earned itself another season.
Co-creator Ell Smith says Season 2 will explore a new park.
“We’ve done Yosemite. What’s the next park that could feel different from that? Each national park has such a different cultural identity, geographical identity,” she said. “Being able to explore those places through the case and through Turner’s journey is what’s so fascinating.”
She added, “Whichever park we choose will be a character and it will kind of play a role in Turner’s emotional frame of mind.”
Co-creator Mark Smithe added, “This time we get to follow Turner into a park and let him lead us, and we stumble along with him as he’s kind of finding his way.”
The creators also said they’ll craft Kyle to be “very uncomfortable” in the new season.
WEDNESDAY Season 3’s co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough said, “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
Co-creator and co-showrunner Miles Millar adds, “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”
The first season of WEDNESDAY is the most-viewed English-language series on Netflix of all time. Though Miller teases he’d have to “bury you in a shallow grave” if he were to reveal release date information, the season will likely come out next year.
