New on DVD October 8, 2019: Two Very Different Types of Toys…

TOY STORY 4 is another breakthrough in great computer animation, and even greater storytelling, with a story about Woody needing to rescue a new friend who’s being held hostage in an antique shop. Filled with laughter, tears, thrills, and romance, TOY STORY 4 has a few scary scenes that merit caution for very young children.

ANNABELLE COMES HOME follows the story about the demonic doll who haunts families. ANNABELLE COMES HOME has a strong Christian, moral worldview of good versus evil where Jesus, prayer and the Holy Spirit are extolled, but it isn’t as scary as the previous ANNABELLE movies in the CONJURING series and contains an aberrant theological perspective about ghosts.

MIDSOMMAR tells a disturbing story of a group of young people encountering a murderous pagan cult operating in an idyllic utopian setting hidden in a remote, bucolic part of Sweden. MIDSOMMAR is well filmed and acted, but it includes a steady stream of abhorrent behavior, gore, deception, immorality, perversion, foul language, kidnapping, and murder. It’s ultimately uninspiring and loathsome.
