In LUCE, two parents are forced to reexamine their adopted son’s behavior after he writes an alarming essay in his history class at school. LUCE is a riveting drama with fine acting and surprising twists and turns, but evil eventually wins the day at the end, and people get away with their sins and crimes. LUCE also contains plenty of foul language, references to molestation, a couple sexual scenes, explicit nudity, and other immoral content.
THEM THAT FOLLOW
THEM THAT FOLLOW is a brooding, intense, but ultimately unsatisfying, drama about a pastor’s daughter and her nonbelieving boyfriend, in a small Christian Pentecostal snake-handling community in Appalachia. Setting from the snake handling motif, THEM THAT FOLLOW is really about unrequited love, and the disasters that follow youthful indiscretions. It has a Romantic worldview mixed with false theology, a feminist subtext, and brief objectionable content, so media-wise viewers will find THEM THAT FOLLOW unacceptable.
