RUNAWAY BRIDE - 10/1/2022

Quality:
***
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
RUNAWAY BRIDE, the re-teaming of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, is a triumph. Shockingly clean by Hollywood standards, there are only 2 mild obscenities and some off-color humor, but no nudity or sexual immorality. In a movie about a woman who keeps running the wrong way down the aisle, this movie resists the temptation to salt the scenes with sex and instead relies on the story to keep the audience hooked. The movie received a PG rating because there are a couple of slightly off-color jokes.

MISSING LINK - 10/1/2022

Quality:
***
Content:
-1 Caution advised for older children, including teenagers, and sensitive adults.
MISSING LINK is an animated comic adventure, set in the late 1800s, about a wacky British explorer who searches for Bigfoot, whom he thinks is the missing evolutionary link between man and ape. MISSING LINK has some funny, exciting and suspenseful moments and teaches some strong morally uplifting values, but it also promotes humanist evolution in a politically correct way and contains some inappropriate gun violence. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.

Amazon Prime - 10/6/2022

13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI - 10/1/2022

Quality:
****
Content:
-2 Extreme caution for older teenagers and adults.
13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI is a tense movie about the American soldiers fighting the Muslim terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy outpost and the CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, 2012, the anniversary of 9/11. Very well made with a straightforward plot, 13 HOURS is a conservative call to restore patriotism and values, but abundant foul language, intense bloody violence and mixed belief systems of the heroes demand an extreme caution.

THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY - 10/1/2022

Quality:
****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
In THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY, an Indian family moves to France, where they must work together to build up a new family restaurant in the face of stiff competition. THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY is a pro-family movie with strong moral messages.

VENUS AND SERENA is a candid story of the power of perseverance as displayed in the careers of tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams. VENUS AND SERENA has a light moral/biblical worldview. While the movie has several positive themes such as faith, perseverance and redemption, a caution is still advised for some foul language.

FAMILY CAMP - 10/6/2022

Quality:
****
Content:
+2 Moderately questionable elements.
FAMILY CAMP is a funny, heartwarming movie about two dysfunctional families that learn how to love one another at a Christian summer camp. FAMILY CAMP has some very positive Christian messages about faith, family, love, and forgiveness, with no crude content no foul language, no sex, and lightweight slapstick violence.

Disney+ (Sing-Along Versions) - 10/28/2022

THE PEANUTS MOVIE - 10/7/2022

Quality:
****
Content:
+3 Some minor questionable elements. (Media-wisdom is suggested to discuss.)
THE PEANUTS MOVIE is a wonderful animated movie based on the beloved comic strip created by Charles Schulz, wherein Charlie Brown falls for the new girl in town and tries to make a good first impression, despite his poor reputation. THE PEANUTS MOVIE is a lovable, funny, entertaining animated movie for all ages that teaches positive lessons of compassion, honesty, and selflessness, with only some slapstick and minor perilous scenes that might scary sensitive, very young children.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL - 10/28/2022

Quality:
***
Content:
+2 Moderately questionable elements.
In ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, the singing chipmunks, are bullied at school and have to face competition from the Chipettes, a group of female chipmunks groomed by their mean former manager. THE SQUEAKQUEL has some fun moments and the chipmunks are still cute, but it lacks the surprises of the first movie.
