What You Need To Know:
Snappy pop songs by music legend and executive producer Elton John form the core of the fun score by James Newton Howard. Parents will enjoy the entertaining music while they laugh along with their children. GNOMEO & JULIET is quite an achievement. It teaches the core story of ROMEO & JULIET to a family audience. Thus, it finds ways to show the play’s message without involving the original’s disturbing themes of teenage suicide and young romance. All in all, it’s a wonderful time at the movies. There is some comic violence, but it’s light. Even better, the movie’s “Love thy neighbor” message contains a redemptive theme of forgiveness.

More Detail:
GNOMEO & JULIET is a delightful, inventive animated musical comedy reinvention for families of Shakespeare’s play ROMEO & JULIET.
The story is set in present-day London, with neighboring yards. One yard features a red-dressed group of garden gnomes. The other yard features gnomes dressed in blue outfits. The title characters, Gnomeo and Juliet, belong to the two different warring factions. They secretly fall in love and have to overcome the prejudices of their respective factions. Thus, a valuable lesson in forgiveness and positive is taught without seeming heavy-handed.
