More Detail:
In THE FINAL ANALYSIS, when Dr. Isaac Bauer meets with Diana Evans, a victim of paternal rape, she asks him to discuss her family history with her sister, Heather. Heather is a striking blond who appears to be an instant cure for the psychologist’s loneliness. Overcome with lust, Dr. Bauer tosses his professional ethics aside and indulges in adultery. Meanwhile, Heather is stuck in an abusive marital relationship with a gangster named Jimmy. At Heather’s hands, Jimmy suffers a deadly blow. Dr. Bauer’s fingerprints turn up on the murder weapon, and he is implicated in a crime he didn’t commit.
With riveting cinematography, skillful acting and intriguing plot development, THE FINAL ANALYSIS reminds us that appearances can be deceiving. Lust is confused with love, and “the pleasures of sin are but for a season” (Hebrews 11:25b). Dr. Bauer’s repentance does not involve Christ, but his actions speak for themselves. Justice prevails and the ordeal sobers Dr. Bauer, who rejects the advances of another woman. Regrettably, nudity, fornication, violence, and obscenity obscure the film’s premise which cautions audiences to consider the consequences of their actions.
