Country star Lainey Wilson says she feels “called to be a mama.”
“But sometimes the Lord just has other plans,” the 33-year-old said in the trailer for her new Netflix documentary. “I’m gonna freeze my eggs in April, put them babies on ice.”
Her documentary, LAINEY WILSON: KEEPIN’ COUNTRY COOL, comes out on April 22, PEOPLE reported.
“My family means a whole lot to me. I am who I am because of the people who raised me,” she said back in 2023. “I love them, I really do. I feel like I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t raised by Brian and Michelle Wilson.”
“It is a whirlwind. The performer, the artist, the songwriter, the girl who’s going to shake everybody’s hand,” she says in the trailer a moment before she says she’s “just about people-d out.”
She believes it is important to show that she’s not perfect, and her life isn’t either.

“I am thankful for the life that I live. It’s about celebrating what we are given. It is a gift. This is all a gift,” she said.
She adds, “People keep saying country’s cool again. Well, I say it never stopped being cool. The world just caught up.”
Last week, Wilson and Christian artist Brandon Lake released a single together called “The Jesus I Know Now.” The duo wrote it along with Luke Laird and Emily Weisband.
Wilson said of the release, “So excited to have this out 🖤.”
“I found a friend who hangs with the misfits/ Listens, forgives and then forgives again,” they sing in some of the lyrics.
Lake said, “This song is for everybody. Been blaring it in our house for months and can’t wait for you to be able do the same…💛”
In 2024, Wilson shared that her faith keeps her grounded.
She said, “I run my mouth a lot, but I talk to God a lot too. I think it’s really important to stay as grounded as you possibly can. If that means picking up the phone, talking to your mama, talking to your family, talking to your nephews, surrounding yourself with the people who love you and who know you better than anybody, I think those are all the little tricks. That’s what I’m doing.”
Her relationship with God is a large part of her identity.
“The church was a huge part of my growing up and our family foundation. We love Jesus. And I’m not sure where I would be right now on this journey without him,” she said.
If you haven’t heard it yet, Wilson also has another new song that just came out — “Can’t Sit Still.”
