More Detail:
SECOND CHANCE is a drama on Prime Video about Noah, an ex-con whose life is turned around after he performs community service for a local church. Noah is assigned community service after being caught trying to rob a church. Ironically, he’s ordered to perform his community hours at this church. Noah is grouchy at first but eventually comes to have his life changed by the people around him. At the same time, Cassie, the church’s new children’s ministry leader, feels stressed and overworked after being tasked with restarting the church’s Vacation Bible School. However, she learns how to trust the Lord and allow Him to provide for her in ways she never could have dreamed.
After being arrested for attempting to rob the church, Noah returns to the same church to perform his community service. His supervisor, Sandra, has him perform many custodial duties such as vacuuming, taking out the trash and cleaning the bathrooms. The employees at the church are extremely thankful for the extra set of hands because everyone is busy and overworked.
Though he obliges with his duties at the church, Noah is struggling to find a way to make ends meet. He lives with his partner-in-crime’s family, but they’re behind in the rent. Noah is a talented artist, but the money he makes from selling his art on the street isn’t enough. When Noah’s friend is turned down for a promotion at work, he pressures Noah into continuing their life of crime, by planning to rob a small local market.
Meanwhile, at the church, Cassie feels overwhelmed by the planning for the Vacation Bible School. However, Sandra, a co-worker at the church, promises to help Cassie with the artwork for the Bible school. Over the next two weeks, Cassie has feelings of regret for taking on the VBS, but her adoptive father encourages her and advises her to lean on God. That’s proving hard to do when Sandra suddenly informs the church that her husband just got a big job in London, and she’s leaving with him.
The pastor asks Cassie to take over Sandra’s job of supervising Noah. Without Sandra’s help, Cassie feels more overwhelmed than ever before, but Noah’s artistic talent proves to be a huge blessing.
Things quickly fall apart, however, when Cassie finds out that Noah has been causing the small local market. Making matters worse, Cassie suddenly has to leave to address a family emergency.
