In “A New Beginning,” Lillian prepares for a trip to London to help her sister, Grace, navigate a difficult pregnancy. She’s also dealing with Gabriel’s absence, who’s on a secret Mountie mission. Things grow more complicated with the arrival of Nora, a woman with a mysterious connection to Lillian.
Elsewhere, Michael Fletcher, the town’s new Mountie constable, is adjusting to life in Brookfield. At the same time, Maggie wonders if Sam’s return to town from his mining expedition means the two will finally declare their feelings for each other.
“So Long, Not Goodbye” sees Lillian and Nora continue to figure out their complicated relationship. Meanwhile, as Nora connects with Lillian and Grace, she wonders if she needs to leave Brookfield as quickly as she planned.
Michael continues to settle into his new role in town, even as some people start to criticize him, mistakenly thinking he has a very high opinion of himself. Maggie’s parents, in town on a visit, are encouraging her to leave Brookfield. As a result, Maggie wonders if her potential relationship with Sam is enough to keep her in town.
