The Hunger Games Visits Comic-Con One Last Time

The Hunger Games Visits Comic-Con
By Jonny Zachary

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 panel at Comic-Con on July 9th, 2015 was abuzz today as Movieguide® attended the conference. The cast and crew was introduced by a local San Diego high school drum line and, as always, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in the film, had the audience captivated as she was as candid as ever while answering questions. Fans came to see the rest of the cast, including Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, but they were treated by the always funny Lawrence.

After she had lost her train of thought on a question, she said, “I don’t remember what your question was but remember thinking that this may possibly answer it.” Another question had the star open up about her similarities and differences to her character. When asked if anything from her character rubbed off on her, she replied, “Nothing about us is similar. She’s brave and I’m an actress.”

The panel of actors seemed genuinely loving towards one another and showed off their family-like bond.
Director, Francis Lawrence, praised the crowd, saying, “You guys camp out, you guys wait, you’ve been fantastic. This is for you guys.” The producer of the final installment of the major franchise promised fans an emotional ending for the audience. “The end is emotional for all of us,” she says. “We want to deliver the emotion and the politics of it, all the things that [author] Suzanne [Collins] wanted to say. But we don’t want to say good bye to each other. We all wish there were seven or eight books, not just three. It’s a very emotional conclusion. It’s emotional for us, but it will be emotional for the fans.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters November 20th, 2015.
