Brilliantly directed by Mel Gibson, HACKSAW RIDGE is a captivating, emotional movie about uncompromising faith and miraculous courage. It will make you laugh and cry, but strong caution is advised because of bloody violence and some foul language.

Emphasizing self-sacrifice and faith in God, A DAY IN OCTOBER tells how the resistance smuggled 7,500 Jews out of Denmark in October, 1943, the night before the Nazis planned to haul them off to concentration camps. It is a magnificent film which contrasts man's nobility with his fallen nature. Regrettably, there are four exclamatory profanities. Even so, A DAY IN OCTOBER is one of those rare movies which deserves to be commended and seen.

Of course, the story is a biblical allegory depicting a depraved man who repents of his selfishness and proceeds to show kindness to everyone. THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL is fun for the whole family with finger-snapping musical numbers, and breathtaking costumes and scenery.

THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, based on C. S. Lewis’s popular Christian fable, tells the story of four English children, who enter the land of Narnia, where they meet Aslan, the son of the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea, who rescues the land from the evil White Witch. Despite some minor changes from the book, THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE retains most of its Christian focus and is tremendously exciting, thrilling and redemptive.

42 tells what happens when the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team signed the first black player in the Major Leagues, Jackie Robinson, in 1947. 42 is an inspirational, superb movie showing how the Christian faith of both Dodgers General Manager Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson helped end racism in professional baseball. However, there is a fair amount of foul language and some racial epithets, so caution is advised, especially for children.

Playful and lively, SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE is an exciting, funny movie with lots of action, heart, and faith, but there’s plenty of intense action violence, so caution is advised for children.
